Pet Day Sunday, April 5 from 1 until 4 Admission is $5.00 for pets and free for people. Pets and pet lovers alike share a great spring day in the park at Earlyhouse: exercising, socializing and trying their hand (and paws) at new skills. We have groomers, trainers and lots of great pet stuff. Representatives from SNAP and local Humane Societies will be here. Meet the friendly alpacas from Sorbie Farms. Sign up your talented dog for our famous "American Fidol" competition. Dress up for our costume parade and competion. Shooting Starr DJ Rick, "Big Dog" Davis, will be providing plenty of great tunes. We will also be collecting donations of canned dog food and pet supplies for community animal projects. Donations earn tickets for a raffle of our "Pampered Pooch" basket. *Even friendly pets must be leashed.

The Bridal Show It is that time of year again...when a young lady's thoughts turn to her perfect wedding day.... Please join us on Sunday, April 19 from 1 until 4 in the afternoon An exciting and fun opportunity to meet with our area's premier wedding professionals ...caterers, florists, planners, music and more. These experts will be on hand with answers to your questions, with samples, with ideas and you will have the opportunity to speak with them one on one. Door prizes and one lucky bride will win the Grand Prize of $500.00 * There is no charge for admission and all are welcome. *Brides must pre-register to be eligible for prizes

CELEBRATE WEDNESDAYS Beginning April 16 through summer, join us every 1st & 3rd Wednesday evening from 6 until 10:00 for horsheshoes, beach volleyball, picnicking and a bonfire. $5 admission You are halfway through the work week, so relax and CELEBRATE!! Picnic baskets and coolers are welcome, refreshments are also available. ($5. to participate in horseshoe tournament and winners share the pot.)

Our Celebrated Ladies Tea Our ladies' tea will return on Sundays and Mondays beginning April 26 and on Monday April 27. Teas will be held every Sunday and Monday through May, from 11 until 2:30. We will also have a very special tea to celebrate Mother's Day. Every tea luncheon features a selection of sandwiches, soups and side dishes and our delicious sweets. Teas include gourmet, herbal and traditional blends. Teas, teaware, and gifts will be available for sale from "Southern HospitaliTEA". A wonderful, relaxing treat, the cost is $10 per person. The 5th Annual Chili Cook-off at Earlyhouse Saturday, October 31, (Halloween) from 12 until 5. Chili teams from all over will vie for the bragging rights to best chili in Louisa. Chili fans will enjoy great chili, the music of the John Kiefer Band and DJ Rick Davis, a horseshoe tournament, kid’s games, and Jason the Juggler. Relax and enjoy a beautiful autumn day at Earlyhouse. The Charity Chili Cook-off will benefit the fundraising efforts of the National Kidney Foundation of the Virginia’s and Virginia Transplant Center at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital. The National Kidney Foundation of the Virginia’s, a major voluntary health organization, seeks to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplant. The Virginia Transplant Center Kidney Transplant team is made up of transplant recipients, their families and friends in our area. In their effort to give back a second chance at life; these volunteers are helping to fund more lifesaving kidney research, patient assistance and educational programs in the community. Over the past few years, the chili cook-off has raised over $17,000 for charity, and as always promises great food, great fun and a great cause! Team spots and sponsor opportunities are available. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 3-10 and includes all chili samples. Coolers are permitted and refreshments will be available.
